With its Pasty initial consistency (modelling clay), the PF-AD can be applied manually on vertical or overhead surfaces.
The final impression is Semi-Rigid (80 Shore A hardness), and cannot be deformed ans stretched. It does not accept any Removal Constraint, and should be used only on simple forms.
The PF-AD has a longer curing time (45 minutes) than other Malleables. It is used for applications requiring time, for example to control internal gaps on mounted machines or large moulds.
It can also be used to temporarily add strength to fragile parts before machining, to avoid vibrations.
The PF-AD is suitable for the following applications :
- Control of internal Gaps and Spacing
- Add strength to fragile parts before machining
It can also be used for
- Impression of external simple forms
Because the impression is soft and very flexible, it is controlled without contact, using a visual measuring instrument (profile projector, microscope, optical measuring instrument...).
But the best way to control it is to use the Plastiform® Twin Blade Cutter to create a slice, and measure the dimensions of the slice on a profile projector.
